You have to have a good quarterback to win in college football. There has been plenty of discussion about offensive coaches, coordinators, etc. What really matters is whether you have the QB.

Four weeks ago, everyone was up on Syracuse and Dino Babers. Offensive genius. Upset Clemson. On the rise. The Orange QB got dinged, I think during the FSU game, and they have collapsed. Since Clemson, they are 0-4, getting absolutely blown out the last two weeks. Their offense has been mediocre, at best. Syracuse is 4-7, 2-5 ACC.

UNC has been pretty good under Fedora. This year, no QB translates into no success. They are 3-8, 1-6 ACC. Yes, they had a ton of other injuries, but the LSU transfer was a bust, Sharratt was mediocre before getting hurt, and the third stringer was third string for a reason.

FSU lost their QB and collapsed. 4-6, 3-5 ACC. Clemson, as good as they are, lost at SU when their QB was injured.

The teams that are winning have good quarterbacks. Recognizing Benkert has flaws, like all of us,
I think we owe our success this year to his success. We are going to miss him next year, but that is college football. We must have a good quarterback to win.
