They were the polar opposite of the men's team and came with a purpose. Probably had one of their better games, especially given the slump all season in the 3rd Quarter and collapses down the stretch in the 4th quarter.
One nit pick. Taylor needs to either wear her hair naturally and or put it up like the other girls on the team; not be going out putting in all the long extensions down to her rear that are in her face, swinging into her arms when she is trying to spin in the lane. She was 3-11 but only had one shot out of the 11 under the basket. She just seem to have the hair all in her face and all up under her arms when she was doing her patented spin move underneath. Taylor did have 13 with 2-3 at the 3pt line and 5-6 at the free throw line.
Both Clark (14) and Smith(13) had outstanding games. Kymora had 10 and Brunelle had 11 with Pauley coming off the bench hitting 2-3 out at the 3pt line.
The one baffling player is how she was a 4 star coming in and she struggles both on defense at 6'2" and went 0-7 shooing yesterday is McGhee. She has had 6 games in double figures including a high of 22 against Wake Forest, but she has 12 games of playing time with 0 points in those games. In the last 7 games she has a total of 5 points.
With us losing Taylor, Brunelle, Clarkson that are all 6'2" players and then you throw in Lawson that is 6'0", Lauterbach that's 6'7" we only have Noyan that will be a Sophomore at 6'3", McGhee that is 6'2", McLean that's 5'11" on a medical redshirt as forwards with newcomer 6'2" Breona Hurd. She has amassed 1,648 career points and accumulated 801 rebounds. Hurd also set the Tigers’ single-game school record with 47 points on Dec. 17, 2022. Hurd was awarded all-state honors both her sophomore and junior seasons.
Really need to get a 6'3" - 6'5" girls that can defend/score inside from the portal to offset VT, Miami, FSU and others that have multiple 6'4" and taller girls to stay competitive.
