Bought In?

What is the football team, coaches and players, referring to when they say the team has bought into TE's philosophy/vision/expectations? All I heard when Bronco was here was how he raised the bar for expectations and performance. The offseason physical requirements were grueling and even to garner a number was a challenge and very difficult.

With that being said, I don't understand how the culture and requirements could be that much different or tougher than Bronco's. Is it just a buzzword or is there substance behind the words?

Future Wahoo big man Buchanan is excited to get to work

Ahead of his appearance next month at the esteemed Nike Hoop Summit and his eventual move cross country, future UVa big man Blake Buchanan talked to @HoustonWilson about how excited he is to be a Wahoo and about his future in Charlottesville.

It seemed like a pitching duel, but it really wasn't

Virginia had a least 1 hit in every inning but only scored in two to eke out a 4-1 win over Liberty. In the 5th inning, Virginia scored 3 runs. After a single by O'Ferrall, O'Donnell reached base on an error. O'Ferrall scored on a single by Anderson, who followed O'Donnelll across the plate on a single by Saucke to take a 3-0 lead. O'Ferrall scored again in the 8th on a double by Teel. Virginia batters left 15 runners on base. After McKay pitched thee innings of 2 hit ball, the Virginia bullpen played "As long as you are here, how about pitching 1 inning", and Hungate, Hodges, Jaxel,, Tonas, Blanco,
and Woolfolk did. Liberty scored just the one run in spite of having baserunners in seven innings.
O'Ferrall was 4 for 6 and scored twice, and Anderson was 3 for 5 with 1 RBI. Six others had 1 hit.

UVa's offense faces plenty of questions as spring ball rolls on

UVa’s offense faces plenty of questions as spring ball rolls on. @justin ferber breaks down five of the biggest ones the Wahoos need to answer before they get to fall camp later this year.

Four run rally in the 9th falls short in 12-10 loss to VT

Virginia's bats were hot, but the pitchers were not. O'Donnell was 4 for 5; O'Ferrall and Didawick each had 3 hits , and Gelof and Teel each had 2 hits including 1 home run and 4 and 3 RBI respectively. The Hokies scored 12 runs on 12 hits but were aided by a hit batter and 8 walks who either scored or move other baserunners into scoring position. Early started and gave up 3 runs in each of the 2 innings that he pitched. Hodorovich and Tonas followed and gave up 3 and 2 runs respectively. Hodges pitched three innings and gave up 1 run in the 5th but shut the Hokies down in the 6th and 7th. McKay gave u a hit but 0 runs in the 8th. This was the most runs allowed by Virginia this year.

Women's Final Four

The women's tournament this year has provided plenty of excitement, and I have been just as enthralled with it as I have with the men's. Women's BB has come a long way - those gals can hit 3's and FTs as well as the men.

As big a fan I am of Dawn Staley, I was thrilled to see Iowa knock off SC tonight. Anyone who doesn't think Caitlin Clark is the real deal after tonight has their head up their arse. I truly believe she could star on any number of men's teams if the rules allowed. Rooting for Caitlin and Iowa big-time on Sunday - though I have to admit the LSU coach wins the fashion award!

BTW - great run for the Hokies! Their Aussie guard and league-MVP big were awesome. Too bad they wore down in the 4th, but a great year for them.

SOMEONE PLEASE CONVINCE ME!!!!

Why should I renew my season football tickets this year. After 30 + years of holding tickets why should.ld I renew? Why should I pay to watch an incompetent OC, who has never succeeded wherever he has coached, put another offense on the field that is ineffective while the D is excellent, or at least really good, but which D can not play the whole darn game. Please, someone tell me why I should want to pay to go see this travesty and incompetent OC operate again? I have had this discussion with several Season ticket holding friends that are having second thoughts as well. I need some valid reasons for parting with my hard earned money and as to why I should pay so much money and sped or waste 8-10 hours on game day (travel, food, game & travel) for home games.

50-40-90

Trey Murphy is very close to joining the 50-40-90 club (only 11 missed FG's away from 50% from the field, currently shooting 48.4%), he may not get there at the end of the season. Only 9 NBA players have ever done it and only one of them has had 3 pointers been more than 35% of their total shots taken (Steph Curry who had 55% of his shots the year he did being 3 point shots). If Murphy is able to do it what will be so remarkable about it is that 3 point shots for him are currently 60% of his shots taken and he is shooting 60% on two point shots. They way he has been shooting lately I'd definitely put money on him getting to 50% overall FG % even if he continues to take such a high percentage of three point shots.
