Great offense displayed by the Hoos. Defense, especially in terms of transitioning back needs work. Goalie had good 1st and 4th quarters but was somewhat suspect in between. End of month matchup with ND should be awesome.

Our basketball coach, who does not understand who should play in our games, has managed to lead Virginia teams to first place in the ACC regular season six times in the last ten seasons while singing I Left My Heart in San Francisco. The league must be short of talented players and good coaches.

He and Clark both make All-Defensive team and the Third Team. Gardner was honorable mention.

The Cavs had 7 singles, 5 doubles, and 1 triple while 2 of the Tribes 5 hits were home runs. O'Donnell, Teel, Anderson, Didawick, and Hanson each had 2 hits. Early started and pitched 6 innings and gave up 2 runs on solo home runs. Jaxel and Berry each pitched one inning of shut out ball, and Woolfolk gave up the final run in the 9th.

I guess we will get some input on that depending on if we pursue another point guard in the portal. Don't believe we will but maybe depending on his progress. As much as TB plays two much of the time a third isn't out of the question. We just can't have RB playing 40 minutes a game.

Virginia had 12 singles and 3 doubles before Gelof went deep on our final hit in the 8th inning. The usual suspects led Virginia at the plate. O'Ferrall was 2 for 5 and scored twice; O'Donnell was 2 for 2 and scored 3 runs; Gelof was 3 for 4 with 3 RBI and 3 runs; Teel was 4 for 5 with 4 runs and 2 RBI; and Saucke was 2 for 5 with 2 runs and 4 RBI. Virginia was aided by 8 walks and 5 Rhode Island errors. O'Connor was the starting pitcher and went 4.2 innings and gave up 4 runs on 6 hits. He was relieved by Tonas who gave up the last 2 runs on 4 hits. Hodorovich, Berry, and Woolfolk shut down the Rams inthe final 3 innings.

The Hoos emptied their bench tonight while defeating Richmond 25 - 8. All aspects from face offs to scoring to defense including goal tending. were sharp.

Teel was 4 for 4 with 2 runs and 2 RBI, and Anderson was 4 for 5 with 3 runs and 2 RBI. O'Ferrall was 2 for 3 with 1 run and 1 RBI, and Saucke was 2 for 4 with 2 runs and 1 RBI. Virginia batted around in the second and fourth innings to jump out to a 9-0 lead and coasted home while clearing the bench. Edgington pitched the first 6 innings to earn the win; he gave up 3 singles and struck out 10. Three pitchers each pitched 1 inning in relief without giving up a hit and striking out 4.

Virginia sent 12 batters to the plate in the first inning and scored 7 runs on 6 hits and 2 RI errors. Rams had a solo home run in the 2nd before Virginia added another run in the bottom of the inning. Parker is pitching for the Cavs.

Chapel Hill. The whole world is waiting to see if UNC can win and get into the NCAA tournament.
