Rank your five best players of the Bennett era and short reasons why

1). Malcolm Brogdon- he has been a shut down defender the past two seasons and our leading scorer. When the game is on the line, of all the players on this list, you want the ball in Malcolm's hands. He is cutthroat and icy cold.

2). Mike Scott- probably would have had two dominant seasons if not for getting hurt and taking the redshirt before his final year. He was starting to blossom and the performance against Minnesota was vintage Scott senior year stuff. Probably should have won ACCPOTY but you know Carolina bias and we hadn't quite arrived yet.

3). Justin Anderson- this may raise an eyebrow but he gets the nod over my number 4 just because of his sheer will and ability to take over games in a multi faceted way. This is what separates the great ones from the good players. He saved our butts in as many games as anyone not named Brogdon.

4). Joe Harris- Joe was a corner turning recruit and it almost feels amiss to mention him in that way without naming Akil Mitchell. Joe was a tireless worker and a great representative of the program. The only reason he is not higher is his performance at crunchtime lags behind the first three. He did provide us with an all time great memory as he pulled up and drained the three pointer to break Duke's back in the ACCt championship game. Thank you, Mr. Harris!

5). London Perrantes- I sat courtside three years ago and watched this kid run the offense against VCU at the JPJ. I posted that night that this kid was going to be a star. It was evident from the jump that he was going to steward this offense for 4 years. And while others get All ACC accolades and get to thank family, God, coaches, and teammates, every single player honored by the ACC in one fashion or the other should personally walk up to London and thank him, thank him for being so selfless and for being the straw that stirs the drink.

Brad football weekend

Very early on a Monday after the weekend which should have been a big success with great weather and a great basketball game with a crowd that BM can point to and say to recruits look what you could be playing in front of, 40 to 50,000 rabid fans at Scott if you come here and we win as I know we will. Yet no commits as of yet. Does that surprise you. I think you felt that we might get one or two over the weekend.

CavsCorner Video: Gill talks about bouncing back

After scoring just 12 points combined in UVa's previous two games, senior forward Anthony Gill stepped it up on Saturday in the 79-74 victory over North Carolina. After posting a 15-point, 9-rebound effort in the win, Gill talked about the funk he's been in offensively, how he was able to work his way through it, the effort it took to beat UNC, why as someone from the Tar Heel State the game is a fun one for him, and much more.

Ceiling as an athletic department?

Just curious with the success TB seems to be sustaining in hoops. Where does everyone see the ceiling of UVa athletics?

I think many feel that FB can only aspire to be a usually solid but only occasionally very good program. However, with the turnarounds that Oak has managed with baseball (truly historically bad program until his arrival), and now Bennett with basketball, has anyone changed their minds? Can we be perennially good in all three and able to compete for titles in all three (ACC or nattys)?

I honestly think it might be possible if Mendenhall is anything like the other two coaches. System, consistency, might take a while but we'll get there kind of mentality. Not dominating all three by any stretch of the imagination, but top 10-15 in all three in most years. And unlike Florida, Texas, or tOSU, we wouldn't be doing it with $$ and population alone ... it would sure be nice if Mendenhall was our Harbaugh without the NFL departure!

DH vs MS

Who plays when, how many min, who starts to me is difficult to get a grasp of. Thought last night MS played well and surprised he didn't play more at the end. His length on D seems to be an asset where as DH gets caught out of place and a little slow on switches. He got burned a few times last night. While I liked that DH was more aggressive with his dribble drive and shot taking he nearly turned the ball over multiple times. I sense MS is getting healthy and more consistent and he hopefully will be an x factor the rest of the way. I get the feeling that self confidence is an issue with both and TB does not want to make any major changes that might hurt either players psyche. Also on a side note anyone surprised TB didn't put on pressure on the ball coming up the court the last 5 min (except last one)? We probably gave them at least 1 free possession that could of burned us.
