Anyone who has followed Virginia basketball for the past few years realizes that most of our players have not yet demonstrated the skills and abilities that we were blessed to see in some of our former players. They realize their mistakes and limitations, and the coaches realize their mistakes and limitations. I am sure that they would like to be playing better even more than our fans. I will never call them out because they are not living up to my hopes as long as I am convinced that they are trying to improve. Perhaps because I realize that I had athletic limitations, I have empathy with others who have limitations. I could not dunk a basketball, consistently hit a curve ball, or throw a football fifty yards, so I understand that some cannot hit the 3 40% of their attempts, or do not have lateral quickness, but as long as they are trying to be the best they can be, I will never call them out by name. That is my stand. I could be wrong.
