I'm really excited about how the guys are gutting out wins, but I think if your eyes are open and you're being honest, it is very apparent that a loss is coming :::IF::: we can't get some outside shots falling real soon. I don't think we've hit more than 2 or 3 three-point shots in a single game since UNC. And we're shooting like 20% or thereabouts from three during that stretch.
Simply put, as tough and amazing as our defense is, that is not a sustainable trend if we expect to keep winning. Our biggest advantage right now is our inside scoring presence, but if teams don't have to respect our outside shot, they're just going to pack it in against our big men and give them no room to operate. And that will grind our offense to a halt.
And if a team like Wake hits 10 threes again on their court, I'm fearing the worst.
Big picture, I think we'll be fine ... Justin will get back, when London gets back I don't think he'll shoot it any worse than he already is, Brogdon is slumping from three a bit, so is Shayok, Nolte truly can't get worse but at this point I'm not expecting him to improve ... so there's really only upside on our outside shooting. That upside just needs to materialize!
