UVA added two outfielders to the team this year. Doak Dozier played for Arlington Heights High in Texas and was rated the #11 prospect in Texas. He is tall (6'3") and a little thin. As he matures and adds weight, his power should continue to improve. His throw from the outfield has been timed at 92MPH which indicates that he will probably see time in right field. Jake McCarthy is the brother of Joe. He is a lefty and could see time in left or center field. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates but opted to keep his commitment to UVA. He also played football and is the all-time leading rusher at Scranton High with a total of 5,915 yards. I should add that Cameron Simmons can also play outfield as well as pitch. He hit .452 with 22 RBI his senior year. As a pitcher he was 5-0 with a 0.74 ERA as a junior and 3-1 with a 0.96 ERA as a senior. He might be the Haseley of the entering class.
