One of my good friends who was a walk on WR at BYU told me when BM was hired that we were going to hate Anae. BYU fans were not happy when Anae was the OC.
In fact he left BYU in 2010. Word was BM asked him to leave. Then he came back after 2 years at Arizona. Not really sure of the back story there but he and BH must have patched things up.
Interesting sidebar is it seems BYU offense has stalled since he left though.
I have a gut feeling he may resign voluntarily and head back west after this year. I don’t think he’s that happy here. I think BM has adapted to VA, but Anae seems grumpy all the time. Let’s see what happens.
If he leaves, wevwill have the institutional knowledge of the Air Raid system. BYU was top 10 in the country in lowest elapsed time between plays under Anae even the year they all came east. That has never been instituted here. But I think BM can find a good young football mind to continue and improve on the present system. Probably will be better for all involved.
