After getting two on base, Berry settles down and gets the next three out. 0-0 UVA up to bat and mentioning the batting order change for UVA right now. Glad to see it!

OK Oferrall up and man that Catcher for Clemson is a master at framing out side pitches for strikes. OFerrall picks up where he left off last game hitting a ball right to short stop for easy throw out.

Cotier gets up and hits the ball right at the Pitcher and it bounces off him right to Second baseman and is thrown out at first. Cotier on instant replay sees the ball bounce off the legs of the pitcher and is jogging and when it goes right to second baseman he turns his head and tries to sprint to first, but too late. This is why you run hard and not watch the ball and assume you got a break.
Tappen gets up like at bat last game and strikes out AGAIN.

Top of the second. Clemson's first batter hits a very high pop up that O'ferrall gets but the next batter for clemson just hits a rocket that Gelof stabs it out of the air for second out.
Well, Berry got the first two guys out, then the down pour that walked a batter, then a wild pitch got a runner advanced to second, then next batter hit one between first and second and they got a run home. Third out on a strike out.

Sucked that we had down pour that helped Clemson on the previous two batters then the rain let up.

UVA up to bat. Clemson 1-0

Gelof on base and Ortiz at bat no outs. Ortiz hits a slow bouncing chopper and still gets beat out at first on the throw. Wow. Gelof now on 2nd one out and Anderson up.

Wild pitch by clemson and Gelof advances to third. Unfortunately Anderson has two strikes and has got to hit it out of the infield and hits it right to first base and Gelof tries to run home and caught badly at the throw out at home. OMG, that was DUMB! He pulled an Anderson trying to sneak home after the good base running. We have just got some players that don't engage their brains on these kinds of hits.

Again, Teel hits a line drive the short stop has to chase and still throws him out by a country mile. Extremely late getting out of the box after the hit and watching the ball instead of running hard, OH, and trying to catch his loose helmet coming off his head instead of sprinting.😠

Top of the 3rd Clemson ahead 1-0 and up to bat. First pitch Berry throws a terrible ball in the dirt. One observation, Clemson pitchers balls are right around the plate; ours are not even close.

Now Gelof has made a SECOND ERROR with the ball getting by him and he was there both times and the ball went right over his glove he had down to get the line drive. Don't know what is going on with him on fielding the ball that should be routine and easy outs but instead got by and into the out field.

Gelof has a pop up right to him for first out. Now Clemson runner steals, but called out on batter interference. Two outs. Berry gets the third out on a strike out. Berry up to over 60 pitches now.
UVA up.
Saucke just hit a nice double deep down the line and then Newell gets up and hits a grounder for an out at first but advances Saucke to third. OFerrall has two strikes and has to get this ball out and the ball gets away from Catcher and Oferrall AGAIN is watch the stray ball but gets to first, but the wildest thing is Saucke runs home, over slides home and the ball is still loose from Catcher and he crawls back quickly and tags home for the run before the catcher can tag his leg. Crazy.
1-1 now. Cotier hits the ball right to second for easy out at first by Oferrall is on second with two outs. Tappen up to bat. Tappen struck out on the first time up to bat and the count is now 1-1.

AAAAAAUH! Tappen hits a slow bouncer to second base and is thrown out by a mile. Another one slow out of the box as seen on instant replay and beat by a mile at first.

Interesting contrast: UVA Berry has already 60+ pitches in the 3rd, Clemson Pitcher 38 or so. Now he is up to69 pitches with two bad ball pitches and a strike. Now a base hit. Oferrall and Cotier haven't learned that they are leaving to big of a gap between them and these guys are hitting right across second base to the outfield grounder.

Now Berry is throwing really bad pitches in the dirt and Teel is working hard to keep from balls getting away, and now a line drive right to Newell on a rope for an out.

Wow ball hit to Berry and he (Berry) threw a soft underhanded ball that bounced to Ortiz as the runner is closing in. Nice presence by Ortiz to focus on corralling it in his glove for the tag. Two outs. Now Berry just walked another guy with two on base and two outs.

New Pitcher in for UVA with two on base Kosanovich out to pitch now. Smart move. Berry was up to 82+ pitches. He's a sophomore, but he will need to work on throwing less obvious balls high, wide or in the dirt that have batters just taking those gifts, but Berry throws too many and runs up his count fast. Clemson's pitcher was still in the 40's to Berry's 80's.

Kosanovich gets third out for the inning and now UVA up to bat. Still 1-1. Got to have smart base runners, not watching the ball like a little leaguer and run hard. Also once we have runners on base, we need batters coming up not swinging at garbage then hitting a weak grounders for easy outs or double plays, especially if we have someone on third and hit it like you've been doing like you are going for the grand slam to get the run home.

Gelof up to bat, 3-1 count, Gelof doesn't need to do anything; just like that Gelof doesn't swing and now he's got a walk. Ortiz up to bat. Gelof tries to steal and gets thrown out; under review.YES!!!! Second baseman was obstructing second big time. Gelof safe at second. wasn't even close on how he used both feet to obstruct on the slide before he had the ball.
WOW Clemson pitcher is still at 49 and now Anderson just hits a two run Homer!!!!!!! UVA 3-1!

Ortiz and now Teel struck out. Two outs. Saucke up. on 3-1 count Saucke pops up to the warning track and third out. Don't know why he just didn't take the ball instead of swinging. Top of the 5th.
