Virginia should have a deep and talented team with no surprises. It appears that Abbott will likely be one of our LH weekend starters along with Savino. McGarry and Vasil will be our RH weekend starters. With four pitchers contending for three spots, the man out will probably depend on whether the staff wants to go to two righties or two lefties on a particular weekend. The man out will like start one of the mid-week games. We have 5 RH pitchers who will likely pitch mid-week or be middle relievers - Messinger, Hodorovich, Kosanovich, Wyatt, and Austin. They will be joined by 6 LH - Neeck, Price, Ritchey, Schauer, Baldino, and Bales. The closers will be Whitten (RH) and Schoch (LH). Our two regular catchers will be Michaels and Teel. First base will probably be Tappen or Ballestro. Cotier will start at 2B and be backed up by Coppedge. Kent will return at SS and be backed up by Jake Gelof. Older brother Zach Gelof will start at 3B and be backed up by Ortiz.
