Home runs by Whalen (first as a Hoo), Saucke, Ford, and Didawick were part of the 13 hits by Virginia in a seven inning Mercy Rule game. Anderson was 3 for 3, and Whalen and Ference were both 2 for 3. The entire team was 13 for 29 for a team .448 batting average. Moore started on the mound for Virginia and pitched the first two innings; he gave up two solo home runs in the 2nd inning. Osinski came in to pitch the next two innings and gave up just one hit and no runs; he improved his record to 4-1. Augustin pitched the 5th inning and allowed 2 runs on 3 hits. Tonas pitched the 6th, and Barker pitched the final inning. The Hoos made no errors and made several excellent plays.
