Virginia's bats were hot, but the pitchers were not. O'Donnell was 4 for 5; O'Ferrall and Didawick each had 3 hits , and Gelof and Teel each had 2 hits including 1 home run and 4 and 3 RBI respectively. The Hokies scored 12 runs on 12 hits but were aided by a hit batter and 8 walks who either scored or move other baserunners into scoring position. Early started and gave up 3 runs in each of the 2 innings that he pitched. Hodorovich and Tonas followed and gave up 3 and 2 runs respectively. Hodges pitched three innings and gave up 1 run in the 5th but shut the Hokies down in the 6th and 7th. McKay gave u a hit but 0 runs in the 8th. This was the most runs allowed by Virginia this year.
