in the Bahamas. I know that stats from 3 games vs weak competition don't mean a whole lot this time of year, but there are a few promising signs so far:
1. UVA has scored 42 or more points per half in 4 of the 6 halves so far. In fact, only one half, the season-opening half vs Towson, did UVA score less than 34 points. Even against this competition, that's a good sign compared to previous seasons that we are stronger offensively this year.
2. UVA is shooting 54.5% from the field and 47.1% from 3pt land as a team so far, led by Ty's 68%/68.8%, Dre's 60.7 %/80%, Huff's 72.7%/66.7%, and Mamadi's 65%/40%. Poor Kyle Guy is dragging the percentages down with his paltry 50%/42.9%.
3. UVA is averaging 82 ppg while holding the opposition to 46.3 ppg.
4. UVA has 4 players averaging double figures, led by Jerome at 17.0, Hunter at 14.3, Guy at 11 7, and Diakite at 10.0.
5 Braxton Key leads the team in rebounding at 6.3 rpg in 24.3 minutes per game. Ty Jerome is averaging 5.7 assists per game, with Guy at 4.0 apg and Clark at 3.7 apg. Ty is also averaging 2.7 steals per game.
6. Bennett has showcased our depth so far with 9 players averaging between 12.3 mpg and 28.7 mpg.
