After the basketball defeat, I decided that I would not post for three days for fear that I might post something that readers would consider inordinately stupid. I did not even visit the board because I did not want to be tempted to respond to any post that I considered intemperate. I was as disappointed as any UVA fan after the loss, not for myself, but for the players and coaches. I have always felt that we had a team of overachievers who regularly defeated teams that had more individual talent.. For this reason, and the fact that it would take only one defeat in the NCAA tournament for elimination, I believed that a national championship was much more unlikely than our improbable championship in baseball. Nevertheless, I was hoping that we could pull it out, and I will be at JPJ next season rooting for our new team.
I am back after a self-imposed three day moratorium on this board.
