I predicted, before the season, that we'd go 1-11. So, I was wrong about that and I'll admit it and have no problem doing so.
The problems with this team and coaching staff still persist, however. I heard during the broadcast that Syracuse has run successful fake punts in previous games during the season, and yet we looked totally surprised by it when they ran one at the end of the first half. That drive led to a TD.
I feel like I'm beating a dead horse by saying that Fairchild has become so predictable. Syracuse was sitting on so many screen passes, it was like they knew our playbook. Why he doesn't open things up for the entire game is beyond me. Anyone with a brain can see that Thorpe and Severin are two of the better receivers in the conference. THROW IT UP!
In the end, we should have won this game going away, but instead it took a miraculous 90-ish yard drive at the end of the game to tie it and triple overtime to win it.
I've never felt so disappointed after a loss before. I don't feel excited at all. I mean, Syracuse stinks, and we almost lost because of the same mistakes we've made during every game all season.
With UNC on deck, a team London is 0-5 against, it's hard for me to feel positive going into next weekend.
