CTB has been masterful and patient in melding this squad together into a rather good team in late February. The emergence of 3Wold, Morsell's recent improvement, Huff becoming more consistent and KC being a better ball manager have all been factors in being 11-5 and winning last 6 of 7.
But this team still can improve. Here are the three improvements that I hope we will see by March Madness:
Key getting out of his funk. Of all the issues this team has dealt with Braxton Key's funk is most troublesome. He was a better player pre-injury. I know it takes time to heal but seems Key just can't put his game back together. His outside shooting is terribly inconsistent- can't drive effectively and makes at least a couple bonehead plays a game. He is a 4th year. Let's hope the impending end to his college career gets Key to focus.
Morsell's continued improvement. Seems Casey is finally beginning to put his game together. Kid can play and provided he gets over the ankle sprain, he can be an X factor in March.
Caffaro/ Huff rotation. CTB is starting to get a good feel for what each brings to the game. AS he improves the matchup/ lineup calls, we become a better interior defense and rebounding team. Huff just needs to continue to gain confidence when he is on the floor. WE become one of the best interior squads when MD, KH, Huff are clicking.
