See, it is VERY hard to win the national championship when you are on a long winning streak. It is best to lose in your conference tourney or near the end of the regular season. When you are playing top competition game after game after game and you have won 12, 14, 16 in a row, it is VERY hard to keep it going all the way to the end for whatever the reason. Could be a bad shooting night, could be an injury, could be a hot opponent, whatever. Could be bad officiating. Could be anything. Only team I can remember doing it in recent memory was Louisville when they won and had a 16 game streak at the end. Many national champions only have a 6 game streak. Duke last year, Kentucky's title, UConn's title.... if Oklahoma or Villanova wins it, 6 games streaks.
