I figure this post will involve panic that something has happened to him, too, but that isn't the case. Of all the receivers on the team that most have the opportunity to step up with Thorpe going down, there is no one better to do that than Keeon Johnson. I remember his first year when he was an absolute beast. With his size, he can out muscle defensive backs, and he has the ability to go up for the ball with the best of them. People were comparing him to Calvin Johnson halfway through Keeon's first year (Yes, comparing anyone to Megatron is foolish, but still, Keeon definitely looked like he was a future NFL player.) Unfortunately, last year he didn't even show up in most games. His effort was lackluster, and he spent more time on the bench than on the field, and rightfully so. Moving into this year, all reports are that he has looked very good in camp and is resembling the Keeon of 2013. If that is indeed the case, we may not miss Thorpe as we would otherwise. Keeon was easily our best receiver in 2013, and if he has that fire burning to make it to the league, it won't matter that he doesn't have great speed. What will matter is that he is hard to cover and hard to stop once he has the ball. Step up, Keeon, step up!
