Legends Classic in Newark will tell whether this team can compete and win in the ACC. Georgia is like UVA right now- playing really poor hoops and looking like a long season. NW is also playing poorly, and Providence may be "best" of the 4 RIGHT NOW.
These 2 games will show if CTB can adjust enough to begin to maximize the talent he has. Win these two by making good adjustments- there is some hope. Lose both and UVA will be a sub .500 team this season.
Will be in the arena to watch, so what would be good to see:
Improved D. If you play KC and RB together then you damn well better shut down the other teams scoring guards, because if you don't then you lose, since neither one of KC/RB can score.
Improved 3 point shooting. Can Franklin find his stroke? Is Stattman willing/ able to shot and hit 3s with regularity? Will CTB play Milicic and allow him to stretch Ds with his shot? Will McCorkle, Murray even play?
Improved interior play. Will Shedrick continue his improvement and stamina playing back to back games? Will Gardner channel his inner Travis Watson?
Finally and most important, more effective lineups. What will rotations look like? Still can't fathom not playing McCorkle or Murray last night.
After Tuesday, UVA will have played 20% of its games. Think we will know a whole lot more about this team by Thanksgiving.
