the Astros' World Series win by Verlander today. My grandson played on the Tuckahoe little League All-star team that won the Virginia state championship, and the team went to St. Petersburg-Tampa to play in the regionals. The Tampa major league team was playing at home, and all the players were invited to watch one of Tampa's games. Verlander was on the opposing team. He came over and talked to all the Tuckahoe players and signed autographs for them. The other Little League players wondered why the Virginia team was picked out until they learned that Verlander had played for Tuckahoe. Our team did not do well in the regionals, but the boys came home with Verlander's autograph. Verlander was the starting and winning pitcher today in the Astros' 10-0 win. He pitched six innings and had 10 Ks.
