After listening to their pod cast this week before the Duke game Packer and Durham really hammered home how UVA wasn't getting the respect of being the National Champions and how they lost 3 of their top players to the NBA EARLY, and despite that, UVA has won 5 games in a row (before the Duke victory) and yet they said UVA was way back in the ranking polls to lesser teams with weaker records and most had several loses over the last two weeks and are ranked above UVA.
I took the time to make a list of these teams and where UVA is currently at until the next poll comes out. Truly outrageous how the sports gurus still have teams like Michigan and Michigan St after the number of recent loses each team has had yet still ranked.
With the exception of Oregon, Colorado, Houston, who have the exact same record as UVA (21-7) everyone else has a lesser record with most having losses over the last two weeks to UVA winning 6 now in a row.
13. Seton Hall 20-7
14. Oregon 21-7
16. Penn St 20-7
18. Iowa 19-8
19. Michigan 18-9
20. West Virginia 19-8
21. Colorado 21-7
22. Texas Tech 18-9
23. Ohio State 18-9
24. Michigan St 18-9
25. Houston 21-7
26. Arizona St 19-10
27. Illinois 19-9
28. Arizona 19-10
29. Butler 20-9
30. UVA 21-7
Wow, we now are viewed after winning the National Championship as St. Mary's/Northern Iowa (from the WCC and Missouri Valley) of the ACC this year.
I know they said ACC is down this year but Packer and Durham both agreed even on a down year most of these teams that are ranked ahead couldn't beat a ND, BC, Syracuse, Clemson, VT or NCSt even in this bad year.
