UVa club Thanksgiving event here. Ya'll know me, I am not bashful. I went to the table down in front of the mic to hear and see speakers up close. I had already made an acquaintance named Jim, UVa grad, Ole Miss undergrad. I directed him to sit with me.
Anyway, none other than Parkhill and Littlepage came to sit with us. Parkhill is very affable, Littlepage a little more socially reserved.
Few tidbits.
Parkhill:.
Holland was a great coach. Bennett is the best coach in America.
Dave Laeteo (sp) is a good guy and on court persona is unfair for him.
Gillen is great funny guy lives two houses behind him in Cville.
Best player he played against? David Thompson. Says addiction derailed him in the pros.
He signed with the Virginia Squires solely to play with Dr. J then before the season started Sixers sold him to the Nets.
He saw Doc at one of our football games this year.
Littlepage:
This is a very important few days for us. He wants to win this tourney and in Blacksburg.
Carla (sp) Williams is in Blacksburg for that game.
Jack Salt's sister was there. She was bashful to stand up for applause, I believe it was because she had on an Oklahoma shirt .I think she is a player there.
When I shared some of my story with Parkhill, come to find out we have a mutual ex NBA player friend. He said my story is awesome and told me to keep doing what I am doing.
