In the 8th Saucke reached base on a throwing error by the Columbia 3B. Anderson attempted to sacrifice but was credited with a hit when the catcher could not make a play on the ball. Godbout followed with a walk. Didawick then got a RBI on another walk. Rubin was robbed when the first baseman made a diving catch on a line drive. O'Ferrall hit a line drive through the third baseman's legs to plate 2 more runs. Gelof and Teel both reached on walks before Saucke hit a solid single to left field to score another run, and Anderson ended the scoring with a 3-run HR. Columbia got on the board with a home run in the top of the 9th to make the final score 9-1.
Woolfolk got the win after coming in with the bases loaded in the 8th and one out. He got a strike out and a routine fly to right field to end Columbia's bid for a win.
