It's interesting that he signed for 2.5M guaranteed his first 2 years. The 21st pick was slotted to make a max of 2.963M for the first 2 years and $7.058M over 4 years. Rookies can sign for anywhere between 80% and 120% of the cap slot with anything over 100% not counting against the salary cap for teams.
A little surprising to not see the max slotting for Justin given how well he played in Summer League. I am curious if year 3 and 4 will make up the difference and get him to the max rookie deal for his slot of $7.058.
The 21st pick has gotten the max contract for at least the last 3 drafts. A little surprising that his agent didn't get a close to max deal. He made just over the 100% mark slotted for the 21st pick this year. I understand Texas doesn't have state income taxes but 400K is a lot of money.
