There’s a lot of negativity right now with our program, much of it deserved. It’s been almost a year since we won a game. Many want CTE out, and seems pretty much everyone wants Kitchings out. I may be in the minority, but I’m seeing improvement. While we are still finding ways to lose games, there’s definite improvement to my eyes from last year to this year and game one to game four this year.

Defense: C+ Think Coach Rud has done a good job. Last year‘s D was better, but we‘ve lost a lot of talent since then to tranfers, injuries... From game one to game four, there’s been definite improvement, which is expected with all our new players.

Offense: C- (Passing B+ and running F)
QB AC has “it”, barring injury or transfer he should be our future. Even with his dumb freshman mistakes, he’s been fun to watch.
WRs have been pretty good so far, better than expected. To me, they've been better than that highly-hyped, bunch of ball-droppers we had last year.
OL is not good. I think the OL coaching is improved but talent is just not there. OL is absolutely terrible at run blocking but pass blocking is decent, which is actually similar to the Mendenhall/Anae teams we had.
RBs were supposed to be good but they’ve done nothing yet. A lot of that falls on the OL. No RB other than Pace deserved to touch the ball yesterday.
TEs, use them more.

Special teams: Suck. Someone needs to teach the punt returner where to catch the ball and where to let it bounce.

Recruiting: D. While we’ve not been resorting to two stars, it’s been poor overall. In-state recruiting needs to be fixed also, but we’ve been saying that for years. Given our academics, history of losing, paucity of NIL, and past lack of facilities, it’s a tough sell for CTE. Honestly, unless we can go on a minI-win streak to close the year and build some positivity, i don’t see how CTE gets recruiting turned around.

Coaching: D. Overall poor. Defense good, coaches them up. Special teams poor. Offense, still not good but improved from terrible last season. Player development exceeds in-game coaching overall.
Kitchings is in over his head. The definition of stupidity is handing off in the shotgun for runs up the middle over and over and expecting different (ie, good) results. Especially stupid 3rd and 1 or 4th and 1 when that dumbass doesn’t know to line the QB up under center and sneak it. 4th down go-for-it vs FG decision making is lacking.

Football administration: F+. The “+” is for finally getting some new facilities. Whoever was responsible for our OOC schedule should be fired. The most basic rule of rebuilding a bad program is cupcake scheduling. WTF are we playing @Tennessee and @Maryland for. I don’t care if BYU canceled on us, you still don’t accept Tennessee. And why was BYU originally scheduled along with Maryland. Our team does not know how to win, they only know how to lose. They need some cupcakes to beat and gain confidence. Get some easy wins on our record to garner just a bit of fan and recruit attention.

I’ve still got hope for this team. I’ve seen effort and signs of hope vs JMU, UMD, NCSU, all of who were better, more established teams. Sooner or later we will break through against somebody, and then maybe we can string a few together. I’ve still got hope for CTE and staff, but if he fails, I think his downfall will be the Kitchings hire/retention.
