The Cavaliers scored 10 runs in the first 3 innings on 6 walks and 7 hits. They were led by Teel who had a grand slam HR and a RBI single and Gelof who had a double and another HR. Neeck pitched the first 5 innings and gave up 1 run in the 4th while striking out 8 Cornell batters. Virginia tallied 3 more runs in the 4th with triples by Gelof and Tuff and a single by Saucke to give the Cavs a 13-1 lead. In the bottom of the 5th O'Farrell single, stole second , and scored on a Stephan's single; Gelof then singled to complete the cycle, and they both scored on a HR by Tappen. Saucke followed with another HR to stretch the lead to 18-1. Greene pitched the 6th and gave up 2 singles but 0 runs. Virginia failed to score in the bottom of the 6th. Bowers came on to pitch in the 7th and gave up 3 walks but recorded to 2 Ks. Saucke was hit by a pitch and scored on a Cotier single to score the final run in a 19-1 game in the 7th, and Bowers struck out the side in the top of the 8th. Virginia failed to score in the bottom of the 8th. Geerdes pitch the 9th and struck out the side. Virginia pitchers recorded 17 Ks, and the Hoos got 18 hits.
