I know much has been made about the state of the OL the last couple of years, but the thread above about Doull, Fieler, and Tetlow being done for the year got me to thinking about the bad string of luck they've experienced within that particular unit. Those three, Olewaraju, Adeosun, Cwalina, Whitemire (in previous years), etc. Add in Kelby Johnson's situation (now on the 2-deep at UL) and it's a string of guys theoretically should have been able to put together a pretty decent five and unfortunately we've never kept 7 or 8 of them healthy/eligible concurrently.

I know much was made that we only have one 4* OL at the moment at that he is young (Moss), but if you look historically, we have NOT gone out and recruited tons of OL talent in terms of 4* and 5* guys. I think I tallied that Groh had four in his entire time here (Monroe and Albert in one class, whereas Albert was a 2* the year before out of HS, and Lipsey/Cunningham-Yates in another class) and London has had two more (Moses and Moss), so it's been much more about development for many of them. So many of our really solid linemen were 2* or 3* guys that just developed (Mihota, Bowanko, Pasztor, etc.). Hard to do that when everyone is dropping like flies due to injury.

Anyway, I wish those kids the speediest of recoveries and health in the future ... too bad it's all happening at once.
