It was obvious that Virginia's free throw shooting was bad as we were 9 for 22 from the stripe. Misses from the foul line were partially responsible for Duke's 39 to 24 rebound margin. On the other hand, the Hoos were helped by having only 9 turnovers to 22 by Duke. Not surprisingly Beekman (7-0) and Clark (5-1) led the way in the A/TO to give the Virginia team 16/9 to Duke's 11/22. The most surprising stat for me was the individual +/-line; Whitehead led the Devils with +3, and Proctor was the worst with -13, while Vander Plas led the Hoos with +20, and Shedrick was worst with -5. While this stat may be meaningful over a quantity of games, it is frequently deceptive in individual games.
