The season hasn’t turned out like maybe we’d thought/hoped a month ago. While I have no illusions we’ll make a 1984 Cinderella type run, the season isn’t completely lost.

1. Keep fighting and bring maximum effort. This team isn’t going to blow many teams out, and most of the remaining games will probably end being decided by 1-2 possessions. After UMBC Tony commented many times about recruiting players you can lose with. Dropping 4 of 5...all close...will wear on you, but we can’t mail it in.

2. Give Morsell time to develop. He’s already a very good defender, and the offense will come...especially when he has better offensive players around him.

3. Either TW or Stattman show enough to be a serviceable ACC player going into next year. With what we’re bringing in, I don’t think both of these guys will be regular rotation players...would be nice if one could be that 8th or 9th guy next year though.

4. Probably the least likely to happen, but I’d like to see Jay get 30 mins every game...screw the matchup. He’s our most skilled guy, and he’s only played that much 3 times all year. Have a feeling he’ll have a decision to make about a 5th year, but I’d like to see him make that decision with the benefit of showing his full capabilities.

5. Get a marquee win...whether it’s Duke, Louisville or FSU. We don’t have one, and it would be nice to say “at least we beat X”.

6. Sweep UNC & Tech. Enough said.

It’s safe to say we’re frustrated...I know I am...but these kids and our staff are busting their butts. I think we’re still capable of the NCAA’s but it might be a stretch. Let’s just finish fighting (even if it’s the NIT) to build on what could be a special 2020-21.
