This current situation with this starting squad reminds me of 2012-2013

I believe it was 2012-2013 year when Joe Harris was being touted as the team leader and he and Akil Mitchell were more or less in the same situation as Brogdon and Gill are now. Parrentes was basically like JA was that year; started having a few good games and was vocal during the good games.

Like the Joe Harris situation, it seems Brogdon has went on a bit of a slump and shows no sign as being a leader on this team as did Joe that year where he would disappear and people were questioning what was going on with him. He just did not seem comfortable being looked at as the team leader. Yes, at the end of the night you could argue that Joe Harris as Brogdon does they both get their points in the stat box, but most are points gotten on late game fouls and like Brogdon, Joe would take an easy layup when we really needed 3s to get back in or win.

So many similarities from that year to our current state with not one person stepping up, in tight games we have the same similar problems with knocking down critical one and ones leaving points on the floor and losing to teams in close losses like that year we should have beaten easily.

I said it back then that year if you shoot 50 or 60 percent from the free throw line and miss a bunch of those first shots that are one and ones then you potentially leave double the points not showing up in the final FT made and FT missed column.

No excuses for missing stationary shots and I know I was hard on Wilkins but like Akil Mitchell he never seem to improve from year to year on the critical aspects of free throw shooting.

This team like that team that went on to get 30 wins and a big winning streak, need to learn from that group and do what it takes to get focused and get fired up that they lost THREE games they should have won.

Gill, Brogdon, Tobey were all on that team during that year and really need to do some soul searching on how they can motivate themselves and the rest of this team like that year and start playing hard together and tough. Right after the tough loss to Tennessee, what ever they did or said worked and they went on to win 30 games that year!

I really hope some of these Seniors can step up and stop trying to just blend in the background.

Tobey, Gill, and Brogdon have been disappointing on their aggressiveness, out of position and just over all lack of focus. Tobey was burned numerous times for not boxing out, over pursuing on the baseline as Gill did the same as if they had regressed back to their first year out there. The last two games time management and throwing up garbage, rushed shoots when our senior guards had plenty of opportunities to shot around 10 second left and chose to throw it around to force a rush junk shot. When we were down by double digits, I was peeved to see us walking the ball up, milking down the clock to the last second as if they had a simple division laps on how many more opportunities we had left to come down and close the gap.

I know to some this is rambling, but it's more frustrating because you see these guys just in a fog and the coaching staff has had difficulty to get the right group out there, instead it's two potential shooters/scorers and three people running around or standing regardless of the interchanging parts. This team has had so much potential and in numerous games we were firing on all cylinders, but now they reach the top #4 ranking we start sabotaging ourselves. I just hope the speech that was used back in 2012 among themselves is revisited or this may become a long disappointing season.

Sorry if some read before I re edited the post....lot's of autocorrect that I had to go back on and change. Sorry!
