Virginia got their first commitment of the portal cycle, with Nebraska QB Daniel Kaelin committing to the Hoos after a weekend visit.
Kaelin was a 3-star prospect that UVa recruited out of high school, and ended up redshirting this year behind fellow freshman Dylan Raiola. Kaelin, a former Elite 11 participant, has four years of eligibility remaining. The plan has been to take Kaelin and potentially an older QB as well, but we'll see how that shakes out over the coming days. Still, Kaelin is a talent with potential so it's a good get for UVa.
