With less than 2 minutes in the game, USC was leading by 1 point over Stanford and had the ball. A Stanford defender obviously kicked the ball, picked it up, and made a layup. Then SC was driving to the basket and was pushed from behind. SC was given the ball when it went out of bounds but did not get the one and one attempt. At the end of the game South Carolina intentionally fouled, but the officials again ate the whistle and allowed several more seconds to run off the clock before calling a second foul.
