Now this doesn't mean we have to start with this lineup. I think kids start for a reason and a lot of that goes on behind the scenes so I trust the staff when they bring out the starting lineup, but in a close game what is our best lineup in your opinion?
LP
DH
KG
IW
MD
DH has been more steady than MS and DT and is the better defender and ball handler of the three.
Guy-That is easy. Kid wants the ball. His defense is improving game by game.
Wilkins- While I could go for guards and put MS in this spot, his ability to change shots at the rim goes unnoticed because he doesn't block, and if he can make a jumpshot or two it keeps things honest.
MD- Sure he still has a long way to go but I'd rather take my lumps with someone that has freakish athletic ability. Just go back to the play he made against Louisville tipping that ball and hustling down the court to get it. That's pure athleticism at its best. He's a better jump shooter than given credit for and you have to account for him at the rim because he might very well block your shot
Salt- The guy does a lot of things you have to appreciate especially me as a coach, but late in the game his lack of offensive ability and being not as quick as MD makes you make the switch. While MD will never be the screener Salt is, I would account for him on offense way more than Salt.
DT and MS- MS makes me cringe when he handles the ball. Yes when he's on he's on, but I can go back and count three or four shots yesterday he took way out of rhythm of the offense.
