Sousa pitched the first two innings and gave up 4 hits and 4 runs in the second. UVA then scored at least 1 run in innings 3 through 9. Shambora and Doherty shut down the Monarchs for the rest of the game. Smith led the offense by going 3 for 3 with a HR and 3 RBI. Thaiss was 2 for 4 with a HR and 2 RBI. Simmons was 3 for 5 with 2 RBI. Haiseley was 3 for 4 and scored 3 runs.
