UVA had 10 hits and was led by Thaiss, who was 3 for 4 with 2 RBI. Shambora was the winning pitcher in relief of Lynch. We had a couple of outstanding plays in the field. Clement made a nice running catch of a bloop into right center field, and Pinero made a ESPN highlight barehanded catch of a bloop into left field. There were eight scouts in the stands to watch the Longwood starting pitcher. He touched 90 on the radar gun but threw a lot of balls and ended up being the losing pitcher.
