Once again, the post-NSD dead period has lifted and players can start to resume their visit schedules. And luckily, there is finally a weekend home basketball game in Charlottesville that will allow the Bronco Mendenhall and the Cavaliers to bring in a number of talented prospects.

Before we get to the list of high school recruits, let’s start with Deon Jones, a former four-star Rivals250 prospect in the class of 2017 who is transferring from Maryland. The 6-foot-1, 194 pounder had 34 tackles, a forced fumble, and a PBU as a junior in 2019, including a seven-tackle game against then-No. 17 Minnesota. Word is the former Potomac HS standout will also take unofficial trips to Boston College (March 28th), Missouri (April 11th), and Texas Tech, though that visit doesn’t have a date yet.

Now, among HS prospects, UVa is expecting to host more than two dozen of them today. In the class of 2021, there are 23 prospects expected including:

Lawson Alrbight, a 6-foot-4, 220-pound three-star tight end from Grimsely HS in Greensboro.

Nick Barrett, a 6-foot-3, 320-pound defensive tackle from Eastern Wayne HS in Greensboro.

Tristan Bounds, a 6-foot-8, 270-pound three-star offensive tackle from Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford (CT).

Breyden Byrd, a 6-foot-3, 220-pound ATH from Woodside in Newport News.

Isi Etute, a 6-foot-1, 197-pound linebacker from Virginia Beach.

Malachi Fields, a 6-foot-4, 185-pound dual-threat QB from Monitcello.

Bryce Fleetwood, a 6-foot-3, 178-pound three-star wide receiver from Parkview High School in Lilburn (GA).

James Gillespie, a 6-foot-2, 280-pound three-star defensive tackle from Woodbridge.

Darius Green, a 6-foot, 185-pound cornerback from Covington (GA) Newton.

Tony Grimes, the 6-foot-1, 180-pound five-star Rivals100 cornerback from Princess Anne in Virginia Beach. Grimes is currently the No. 13 overall player in the class of 2021 and the No. 1 cornerback in the nation.

Maxwell James, a 6-foot-2, 180-pound receiver from Lake Braddock.

Prince Kollie, a 6-foot-1, 197-pound ATH from David Crockett HS in Jonesborough (TN).

Tristan Leigh, the 6-foot-5, 275-pound four-star Rivals100 offensive tackle from Fairfax. Robinson, the No. 4-ranked OT in the nation, is No. 26 overall in the class of 2021.

Langston Long, a 6-foot-3, 200-pound three-star safety from Christ School in Arden (NC).

Jordan Moore, a 6-foot-1, 175-pound three-star ATH from Loyola Blakefield in Towson.

Walter Simmons, the 6-foot-1, 180-pound three-star dual-threat quarterback from Orange Park (FL) Oakleaf. He’s the No. 9 DQB in the nation.

William Simpkins, a 6-foot-2, 175-pound safety from Quince Orchard in Gaithersburg.

Trevion Stevenson, a 6-foot-5, 210-pound defensive end from Phoebus.

Adrian Taffe, a 6-foot-1, 179-pound cornerback from Bergen Catholic in Oradell (NJ).

Mac Uihlein, a 6-foot-1, 205-pound four-star Rivals250 inside linebacker from Lake Forest (IL). Uihlein is No. 150 overall in the class of 2021 and No. 9 at his position nationally.

Tyleik Williams, the 6-foot-3, 300-pound four-star Rivals 250 defensive tackle from Stonewall Jackson. Williams, No. 18 nationally at DT, is No. 247 overall in the class.

If the star power among juniors wasn’t enough, the small but loaded group of class of 2022 prospects includes four important names to know going forward:

Bryce Carter, a 6-foot-3, 240-pound defensive end from Life Christian Academy in Chester.

Andre Greene, a 6-foot-3, 180-pound wide receiver from Saint Christopher’s School in Richmond.

Tyler Martin, a 6-foot-3, 235-pound linebacker from Buckingham Browne & Nichols in Cambridge (MA).

Shawn Murphy, a 6-foot-2, 210-pound linebacker from Stonewall Jackson.

And lastly, in the class of 2023, UVa is expecting to host Amare Campbell, a 5-foot-11, 172-pound linebacker from Stonewall Jackson.
