1st Half-
I had no problem with our starting lineup today. As good as Salt will be he has nowhere near the offensive game that Tobey has. The effect that has is teams will shade that backside post to Gill. If you do that with Tobey then it's an easy put back.
Wilkins in that smaller lineup really did a good job and boy has he put on some muscle.
We have a tendency to still go through scoring lapses because we're settling for the outside jumpshot too much when we need to be pounding the ball inside out.
This team is solid in transition. I think that part of the game fits Thompson and MS the most.
Our defense on the interior was pretty solid today and our guards were actually able to get some steals when the William and Mary post put the ball on the ground.
Devon Hall can drive me nuts at times, but we need him.
When W&M went to a zone, we have a team that can expose you inside and out this year.
Needed to be more aware of shooters in transition. Dixon got us twice.
2nd half-
Started 2nd half going inside, but guys on the wing need to be ready to shoot.
We are getting a ton of steals today. Will help this team get easier points without gambling.
Long rebounds have hurt us all year. Just don't remember this being an issue in the past on long 3's.
Anyone else feel we are giving up too many points in the paint lately?
Gill should touch the ball on the block everytime we can't push in transition. Good things happen when he does.
Nolte and Wilkins both gave us much needed minutes. Nolte had much needed offense in the 2nd half during that drought.
I love DT when he can slash to the basket. Like I said above, his game is very good when we get out in transition and go or the spacing is good enough he can slash.
The season boils down to a few guys on different nights-
DT, Hall, Wilkins and Nolte
Speaking of DT, he is moving up to Adam Hall status on dunks.
WVU will be a test in a different manner. I think we will be ok if LP is back running the team.
Just need to tighten up the lapses at times on offense and defense. I will be very happy with 2-1 in the next 3.
I think Nova will be the toughest.
