Watching Louisville @ UCF, UL up 17-10 in 3rd. Pretty good game so far, UCF Is a pretty good team. Playing these Group of 5 teams on the road isn’t a good idea for the conference regardless of how this particular one turns out.
Last week those punks at VT embarrassed the ACC once again losing on the road to ODU. Highly ranked NCSU almost lost at ECU, being saved by missed Pirate PAT and FG at end. UNC gave up 40 points in 4th quarter at App State and needed ASU to miss two 2-point conversions at end to avoid losing. ACC looked bad and narrowly avoided disaster. UCF, ECU, ODU, ASU stadiums all were packed and loud as these G5 fans go crazy when a Power 5 team is stupid enough to show up.
This week UNC plays AT Georgia State and Syracuse at UCONN. Later Pitt plays at Western Michigsn, GT at UCF, BC at UCONN.
They discussed this on the ACCN this week. Said if the ACC wanted to be serious about football, they wouldn’t be playing @ ODU, UCF, ECU, ASU, GSU, WMU…. These are low reward, high risk games even if a 2 for 1 deal. If the ACC wants to develop into a conference that can compete with the SEC and BIG, they need to be gaming the system like those two conferences do. Can you imagine Nick Saban and Bama playing at ECU or Georgia State, never. Those G5 teams should be filling ACC home schedules. Anyways, go Louisville!
