With the upheaval of the last two weeks, it should be a relatively quiet Signing Day at the McCue Center. UVa is expecting 8-9 players to sign today, with the 2022 recruiting class taking a hit following Bronco Mendenhall’s decision to step down, and Tony Elliott only on the job as his successor for a few days.

Also, neither coach will be doing a traditional Signing Day news conference. Instead, UVa will be releasing a video from Bronco later this afternoon discussing the players who have signed.

As players clear compliance, the official announcements from UVa will be passed along. For now, a primer of what to expect today:

Players Expected to Sign

Other Players of Note
  • Brody Meadows: The lone 4-star prospect committed to UVa’s 2022 class is the recruit whose status is uncertain. Virginia Tech is making a late push for the offensive lineman from Graham, offering Meadows last week before hosting him over the weekend. The expectation in Blacksburg is that he flips. Meadows is set to announce at some point between 8-11 am on Stadium, from the US Army All-America Bowl in Texas.
  • Keyshawn Burgos: The defensive end from Matoaca is scheduled to sign at 3:30 pm today. Until Monday morning, Burgos was committed to the UVa 2022 class. Now he’s expected to also sign with the Hokies.
  • Samuel Okunlola: Okunlola got the VIP treatment before the Virginia Tech game at Scott Stadium. He was glued to GA Chris Peace during informal warmups, watching D-linemen loosen up and chatting it up with veteran OLBs Noah Taylor and Elliott Brown. I got the sense that the UVa staff was confident about their chances — but that was before things went sideways in recruiting following Bronco’s announcement. Okunlola is scheduled to sign at 2:20 pm on CBS Sports HQ. It sounds like he’s a Pitt lean.
  • Trent Ramsey: Ramsey is another 4-star prospect who was at Scott Stadium for the Virginia Tech loss last month. Earlier this week, he listed UVa with Cal and Mississippi State as his three finalists. Ramsey will announce his decision at his high school in Tampa at 3:30 pm. He told Rivals last week that his primary connection to UVa was via O-line coach Garett Tujague, whose status remains in question following the impending coaching change. Ramsey picking UVa today would be surprise.
  • Snoop Amaama: Another O-lineman whose interest in UVa can be traced back to a strong relationship with Tujague. Amaama was also at the Virginia Tech game last month. Amaama just made an official visit to Syracuse last weekend, and also has Miami and BYU among his other offers. The 340-pound guard has played his recruitment close to the vest; it’s not even clear if he’ll be signing with a school today.
