Virginia trailed 2-1 until the 7th inning when O'Donnell hit a 3-run home run to give the Hoos a 4-2 lead. Stephan added another 3-run home run in the 8th to expand the lead to 7-2. ECU score a run in the bottom of the inning to cut the lead to 7-3. Teel topped off a 4 for 5 game with a solo home run in the 9th.
