One of the biggest positives I've seen in league play has been the play of Beekman (avg of nearly 11.5 points, 2.5 steals, 1 block, 5 assists over the last 7 league games) and overall looking so much better running the team than Clark does. His defense has been great and has forced many turnovers that have not been credited as steals in addition to his 2.5 steals per game. It's been great seeing him run things more with the ball in his hands which allows him to drive more frequently to the basket, just wish he would do it more often as he gets by his defender so easily. His three point shooting of late is going to open up drives even more. If he could just develop a pull up jumper like Franklin has he could be so much more dangerous on offense. Last five games he is shooting 26 for 48 overall and 5 for 11 on threes. Would like to see him take even more shots.

Clark has really struggled with shooting the last five games (11 for 41 overall and 6 for 23 on threes), but has been much improved with turnovers and dumb decisions (like throwing up wild shots). I think when he doesn't have the ball in his hands as much his decision making is much better and he's not taking the crazy shots as often, though it may also be impacting his shooting (of course a five game sample is not a large sample so hopefully that improves).

Although we are not seeing any development for the three Ms this year in game situations (sure they are improving in practice) it is really encouraging for next year to see Beekman taking the steps he is to become a team leader and regardless of the outcome for the team this season his play will surely be one of the positives taken from the season to give us much optimism for the next two years (and hopefully show Landon Johnson yet again the development of PGs under Bennett).
