It is available to watch on Facebook if you like but lots of good stuff.
- he discussed all the little things he has been in charge of which includes everything from what shirts the staff at road hotels wear to seating charts for planes so weight is distributed evenly.
- team will travel in suits - he mentioned it was a business trip but big reason was to get guys a nice suit and tie each year of their career so they can learn how to present themselves and tackle life when done with football
- has a 12 month calendar - has everything planned - no flying by seat of your pants - even has a plan for a week in Pasadena for the national championship
- saw nutrition was lacking resources, coming from a program where no expense was spared he recognized quickly they needed more and better nutrition for the team. Already paying dividends
- moved a bunch of people around to change the recruiting model from more of an NFL scouting model to a more true college recruiting model which involves direct relationships with the high schools and the players and engagement at their level
- as far as helmets: wanted to harken the past with the navy helmet going back to the look from the 90s - removed the gray face mask bc that’s what blue bloods wear - maybe in the future we could have that. Keeping white helmet stripes as a nod to broncos era and bringing the team to wear they are now (also 2 v Sabres and navy mask instead of gray)
- doesn’t care about uniform combos - wants to focus on play - did mention one small thing being done the players will find out about to make the look more “sleek” - also somehow poor John Freeman seemed to forget we already have orange jerseys
- as far as gameday logistics: wahoo walk with band - expect loud music pregame for recruiting and team energy - still entering field from side tunnel as the center tunnel takes too much time logistically - and a new thing: the team will remain on the field to sing the good ole song with fans postgame
- there will be no captains until end of regular season. They are voted in at end of regular season by team and will wear the C in postseason
- as far as team related news:
He named Ben Smiley and Ty Furnish as the players of fall camp
Cody Brown might miss UR game with an injury - also mentioned Xavier Brown has been a surprise
Leech injury is his thumb - still sounds like Illinois return hopefully. And finally he mentioned that McKale Boley has been a big surprise and he wouldn’t be shocked to see him starting by end of year.
There was a lot between all these highlights. A great listen/watch.
