When the 2 big conferences were looking to expand, they really only glanced at the ACC. Yes, there were contractual issues, but they looked at only Clemson and FSU as being national championship quality. Well, FSU has been awful, and Clemson is looking weak with a blowout loss to Georgia (I know it's Georgia) and no resounding wins over quality teams. The next two teams being considered were UNC and UVA. We are who we are and will take time to build a reputation, and UNC looks bad with a loss to Duke after losing to JMU.
I just saw where a Michigan grad pledged multi-millions to recruit the best quarterbacks with virtually no requirements for receiving the NIL The top 8 athletes now all receive over $2,000,000 for this year, The highest, Deion's son, gts $5,100,000.with $3,000,000 or more for each of the top 4. And it has just started.
We need to get in the game, or join with the other programs in essentially a minor league system. I'd like the former, but as long as we fully realize the cost or additional profit of either decision, I guess we go with it.
