The reality is that Clemson is too big, too strong, too fast, and too athletic for the Hoos. There was no way that we were likely to hang with Clemson unless they looked past us and we pulled out all the stops. It was necessary for us to reach deep into our bag of tricks just to keep the game close. I can only recall two plays that were significantly different from the type of plays we ran all year. First, Perkins threw a pass to WT for a nice gain. Second. our punter threw a pass in a time of desperation which was well played by Clemson. Plain vanilla was not going to defeat Clemson and is not likely to defeat our bowl opponent.
