Just think about that. Where would this program be today? What accomplishments would this program be short had 2015's #72 player not completed his 4 year, when you consider this years transfers. Specifically, Casey Morsell, because whatever you think we have lost with Morsell is likely what we gained because we rostered a "shooter" HOO averaged 3.4 ppg using one of the most beautiful jumpers you would ever see. While Casey may, and I hope he does, see his offense become what we expected, but to this point, these two guys look like similar players.
After 2 seasons: Minpg Ppg Rpg TO FT% 3%
Morsell 18.8 4.2 1.5 .7 76 20.3
Nolte 14.8 4.3 1.4 .6 76 37.1
So as we lament what we lost in Casey, remember, it seems Evan Nolte type would fill his role. Remember too, Casey's rating jumped when he was considered a "soft" UVa committ/hard lean, and maybe the earlier ranking was more accurate. Anyway, had Casey not been give opportunity, woudl we be saying the same as about JAR? That he Def sgoul be playing? There was mild OAD talk about him. So what's more likely? That he was somewhat over hyped or that CTB, widely respected by the association as much as the NCAA and he has a near NBA guy and doesn't recognize it ? Or he knows and has it in for JAR and refuses to play him? Or, that one of the elite talent elevators and projectors in the game just happened to know more from working with him than writers (No Offense Brad) who evaluate for your entertainment, based on a few observations. The anticipated/possible RS that JAR seemed destined for may have been the thing that wiould have kept him at UVa and allowed him to get the Bennett Benefit.
