It's official now that Jim Larrañaga has stepped down as coach at Miami effective immediately due to the same reasons Bennett stepped down around the changes to the game with NIL and the transfer portal. I don't know how more real quality coaches are going to do the same thing, but there will certainly be more over the next year. He mentions in the various articles having 8 players enter the transfer portal after their final four run two years ago solely for monetary reasons even though the enjoyed it at Miami. There is something seriously wrong with the system in place now involving agents and constant free agency and player movement that the pros don't even have. It's one thing to pay the players these massive sums of money (much of which is likely being diverted from other areas in the athletics departments), many of which haven't even played a minute yet, but for coaches to not only have to continue to recruit HS players, but now also have to re-recruit practically their entire team each year as well as the mess that is now transfer recruiting when coaches are surely exhausted from the long haul of the season is too much. As many have said so little of the job now is actually coaching and developing players and young men, it's primarily about being a used car salesman in effect.
