Virginia won 73-70 in a game in which the team had a comfortable lead; I was thinking very comfortable lead, but no lead this year has been very comfortable. Both teams made 23 of 50 field goal attempts; The Hoos made 1 more three pointer, the Hokies had 1 more two pointer, and Virginia had 2 more made free throws thanks to several VPI misses on the first shot attempt on and ones. Virginia had 30 rebounds, and Tech had 28. Individually, McKneely scored 22 points, and Robinson had 15; Buchanan and Robinson, in what was his best all-around game, each had 7 rebounds.
