To those smarter than me- do you think the Oline problem is scheme related? Lack of Talent? or just poor execution due to lack of experience?
I focused on line play and saw 2 things on several "blow up" plays that appear to be scheme related. First ODU players unblocked- something that appears intentional. There was a second half sweep where the back side OLB was untouched- he pursued the runner from behind for a TFL. On another pass- Haskins clearly is focused on doubling the interior dlineman, and never touches #6 who almost kills Perkins. Both look schematic
Another scheme issue is the Oline does not hold blocks at all- initial contact and then move to the next level. That allows the dline to recover and make contact at the LOS.
As for talent- we have NO 5th years, and only 2 4th years on the Line. Most of line are 2nd and 3rd years, and most all are 2-3 stars. Hard to comprehend what is problem.
