The call against Mack for Roughing the Passer was probably technically correct, and I would not have had a problem with the call if such calls had been made all game. After watching the game and several replays, it was apparent that several obvious calls were not made. The most egregious was the play early in the game when Perkins had been tackled. was on his back, and a FSU defender fell with his entire body on Perkins'. The official looked right at them and then blew his nose on his yellow handkerchief. After that, FSU regularly pushed off the Virginia players after making a tackle. A couple of their players, especially #91, were particularly aggressive. I never saw an official suggest that this action should be terminated, and it seemed to increase as the game went on. In addition, it seemed to me that after the officials called several obvious penalties on FSU on our last drive, they were inclined to then look for infractions by UVA on their last drive.
